Investment Consulting
Overview

Cornerstone
provides sophisticated, comprehensive investment consulting and asset management services for endowments, foundations, hospitals, corporate pension, profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans and wealthy individuals. We focus on fiduciary process, risk assessment and performance monitoring — building investment platforms that offer the finest custodial services, manager relationships, execution and consulting for our clients.

At Cornerstone, we pride ourselves on having the experience, knowledge and wisdom to interpret data and synthesize it into action steps that maintain peak portfolio performance and minimize opportunity cost. We achieve these objectives by (1) understanding the financial markets, (2) identifying organizations and products that add value, and (3) building portfolios that control unintended risk.

We take a disciplined approach to investing, ensuring that we are continuously tracking investment trends and incorporating them into our clients’ accounts where appropriate. The primary focus of our investment process is risk assessment and performance reporting. We educate our clients in all aspects of fiduciary responsibility and help ensure that their decisions are in accordance with prudent investment practices. Cornerstone often is hired as a co-fiduciary with our clients — making us responsible to help them quantify and understand the risks within their portfolios. We use this knowledge to design portfolios that maximize returns for any given level of risk.

Cornerstone has a relationship with Callan Associates, the largest privately-held investment consultant in the United States. We purchase peer group data, research data and technology from Callan — allowing us to deliver services that are typically available only to clients with more than $1 billion in assets. This advantage gives us significant leverage in pricing that firms our size normally do not possess.
